The history of Castel Brio 1906

Castel Brio until 1906 was a farm dedicated to the cultivation of cereals, later in the second half of the twentieth century a Conifer Nursery took It over and today this cultivation is still a characteristic of the place, as it is visible in the large pine forest to the north area; in the 1960s the estate was purchased by Comm. Luigi Albertario of Rome married to an aristiocrat to whom he gifted the construction of the massive Medieval tower which still exists today.

In the 1980s breeding of rare white fallow deer arose, animals were sold to zoos and private parks in Europe, a wildlife activity that lasted until the first years of the new Millennium. In 1972, Castel Brio obtained agritourism license no. 1 in Umbria.

Today Castel Brio is an organic farm that grows cereals and nurseries, we raise three types of pine trees. The new country hospitality business will be inaugurated in late Spring 2025. White fallow deer will be reintroduced in the near future.
